We had a lot of fun presenting at the nano@stanford/NNCI Annual Conference. (P.S. we also won the NanoTrivia event later in the afternoon. In the Liu lab, we know our nanoscience!
We had so much fun decorating the office for Halloween. There is much spooky science happening right now. Beware the mad scientists that roam the halls of Lokey Laboratory :D
Amy and Fang were excited to participate in the first USG-CA 2D Materials Wokshop which featured students and professors from academic and government labs across California and the United States. Amy presented a poster on her hBN work and Prof.
Amy, Ashley, and Greg went to the PULSE poster session to meet with prospective students. It was so much fun talking about science with everyone!!! (picture credit: Greg)
There’s something witchy going on here. The original selected area electron diffraction image shows a gold thin film deposited onto an insulating material called hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). In our lab, gold is used to isolate atomically thin hBN sheets that can be used in electronic devices, such as transistors and solar cells.
Ashley has been awarded Stanford’s Safety in Training and Research (STAR) Award for her work as the founding safety officer in the lab. We are so grateful for the excellent safety culture Ashley has helped establish and maintain.
